Dr. Sridhar Ramamoorti, ACA, CPA/CITP/CFF/CGMA, CIA, CFE, CFSA, CGAP, CGFM, CRMA, CRP, MAFF, is currently Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Dayton. He previously served as Associate Professor of Accounting and Director–Board Culture & Behavioral Dynamics, Corporate Governance Center, Kennesaw State University. He is also the Managing Principal & CEO of The Behavioral Forensics Group™ LLC, a consulting firm that treats fraud as a human act, explores the psychology of fraud—the why, not just the how, and features behavioral forensics experts who look at all aspects of the fraud lifecycle to address comprehensively issues in fraud prevention, deterrence, investigation, prosecution and remediation.
Dr. Ramamoorti has a unique, blended academic-practitioner background with over 30 years of experience in academia, auditing, and consulting. After earning his Ph.D. in quantitative psychology from The Ohio State University, Dr. Ramamoorti served on the University of Illinois’ accountancy faculty. He has been a principal in the Professional Standards Group of Andersen Worldwide, was National Sarbanes Oxley Advisor for Ernst & Young LLP, a corporate governance partner with Grant Thornton LLP, and a principal of Infogix Advisory Services, Infogix, Inc. Dr. Ramamoorti is a co-author of over 40 papers and articles and 15 books and monographs. He is the lead author of A.B.C’s of Behavioral Forensics (Wiley, 2013) that won the 2015 Coles College Publication Prize, and has been presented to the FBI Academy, the PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board), the International Monetary Fund, Freddie Mac, among others. He is a longtime member of the Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting (JFIA) published by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).
Active in the profession, he is a Trustee of the Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF) and on the NACVA Litigation Forensics Board. He has been Chairman of the Academy for Government Accountability, and a Board Member of the Institute for Fraud Prevention, as well as the Institute for Business and Professional Ethics. In December 2016, he completed a three-year term on the PCAOB Standing Advisory Group in Washington, D.C. A prolific, internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Ramamoorti has presented his work in 15 countries.
